Declined Life Insurance?
Declined Life Insurance?.....We may have a solution
If you have been declined life insurance it can be a very worrying experience. You may have a mortgage or other debts that you would want settling upon your death and you may also want to provide some security for your loved ones.
We are pleased to offer a potential solution to these issues.
Why are people declined for life insurance?
There are many reasons people are declined for life insurance and some are less obvious than others. The general common theme throughout is that the insurance company feels the risk of providing the insurance is too high for them to make a profit. Some of the reasons why people are declined are shown below.
- Terminal Condition
- Very serious medical condition
- Un diagnosed medical condition
- Recently diagnosed condition
- Awaiting operations or other treatment
- Significant changes in medication.
- Participation in dangerous hobbies/occupations.
It can be seen from the above list that a lot of these 'declines' could in fact be temporary, eg a client who has only just been diagnosed with an illness may find that the insurance company asks them to reapply after a certain period. This is called a postponement. The same situation can arise with illnesses such as cancer where a client will be asked to reapply for cover after a period of several years following the successful removal of a cancer.
The problem however still remains that if you are without life insurance your dependants are at a significant financial risk.
We are often asked... "Can I have Life Insurance with my illness excluded?"
Numerous times after a client has been declined they ask if they can proceed with the insurance but just have their 'cancer' or other illness excluded. They want to have the potential to leave their family some funds if they die from an unconnected illness or from an accident.
Until now this wasn't possible. All the traditional life insurance companies refuse to offer cover with exclusions so anyone declined or postponed simply had to accept that cover was not available.
We are pleased to announce that this is no longer the case.
ESMI (Essential Supplementary Medical Insurance) has developed a product that offers up to £50,000 of cover to anyone between the ages of 18 and 61 irrespective of any health issues. They do however exclude any pre existing (or related) medical conditions but cover is in place for any unrelated illness or any accidents. The cover is affordable, starting at under £10pm, and can be purchased within a matter of minutes.
Due to the obvious restrictions on the policy we would always suggest you try and obtain life insurance with a traditional policy first, but if this is not possible the ESMI are offering a potential solution to an age old problem.
